The VBTuF stands out from other state-of-the-art tunable band-pass filters because of its large range of central wavelenghts and its independently variable bandwidths.
The Variable Bandwidth Tunable Filter (VBTuF), based on Kent Optronics’s privately owned liquid crystal design, is the most agileway to select light spectrums with user-controlled bandwidths. The center wavelength of a single filter can be electrically tuned across a spectral region of 300 to 1,000 nm in the visible and infrared. Additionally, the user can choose a bandwidth of anywhere from a few to hundreds of nanometers.
This product series provides customers with an E-O component that serves as a tunable light illuminator or a spectrum discriminator/selector.
As compared to state-of-the-art tunable bandpass filters, the VBTuF offers the following unprecedented performance specifications:
- A much broader tuning range: 300-1,000 nm
- Variable spectrum bandwidth: 5-100’s nm
- ~30% in-band transmittance
- <1% out-band light leakage
- <0.5 ms/nm tuning speed
This product comes with a compact power supply. Customers have the option to choose:
- Filter aperture
- Spectrum tuning range
- Spectrum bandwidth
- Operating interface
Potential Applications:
- Spectrum analytical instruments
- Remote sensing
- Spectral imaging
- Vision-aid devices
