The camouflage technology allows an active camouflage operation with electrically controllable colors and color pattern distributions.

This technology leads to active camouflage devices. It is established on Kent Optronics proprietary 1-D photonics crystal that is made from liquid crystals with an electrically variable reflection band. It is a thin film active camouflage device without the need for a polarizer(s). The camouflage can be designed to operate in the visible and IR. It can be easily applied to arbitrary surfaces with irregular contours. One single device promises that the camouflage, with the electrically controllable color and pattern distributions, can mimic arbitrary environment color patterns, such as desert, wood, or the combination.
